I've been climbing for a few years now. Every now and again I would get some pain in my fingers, lay off climbing for a week or so and it goes away.
About a month ago, I injured my ring finger on my left hand. Let it rest for a while, started climbing again - but the pain is not going away. It only bothers me when I climb or if I apply pressure to it. It doesn't really prevent me from doing anything, its not a sharp pain, but I'm bothered by the fact that it has been a month and its not healing. I've iced it, took a lot of vitamin I(duprphin), let it rest - nothign really helps. Any ideas from anyone?

I'd see a doctor if you have insurance--I hurt a couple fingers and they still haven't completely healed and it's been a couple years...

I agree - there are some tendon injuries that will not heal on their own - I ruptured a tendon sheath (if you did this, you will feel a bump where the pain is). Required surgery to fix.

Tendon injuries = long-term misery if they don't heal properly. Definitely see a doctor if you can.
